Ivan Law, Chapter President
|
Ivan Law was born in Los Angeles, California and has been involved in music from a very young age. When he was eleven he joined the wind ensemble at his middle school, entering classical music with the trombone. Two years later at age thirteen, he heard his friend play the cello and immediately became entranced by it. From there on he played cello in high school, becoming principal chair during his final year. After being accepted to the University of California, Santa Barbara as a film major at the end of his senior of high school, he made the decision to switch to cello performance because of his love for music and the cello. Recently one of the hosts of HYO's Summer Festival, Ivan looks forward to starting his own chapter of Harmonic at UC Santa Barbara.
